About Best Ladies Competition

​The Best Lady Competition (BLC) is an annual event organized by the Titigweti English Club (TEC) at the University of Abomey-Calavi. Established in 2010, the competition aims to empower female students by enhancing their English language proficiency and leadership skills. Participants engage in various activities, including project presentations, debates, and language assessments, all conducted in English. The BLC provides a platform for young women to showcase their talents and advocate for gender equality within their communities.

Through the BLC, TEC seeks to challenge traditional gender norms and promote female participation in social, political, and economic spheres. The competition not only fosters linguistic excellence but also encourages self-confidence and civic engagement among its participants. By highlighting the achievements of women, the BLC contributes to reducing gender-based violence and promoting women's rights in Benin. The event culminates in a gala where winners are celebrated for their accomplishments and commitment to societal development.
